Rick Edwards, owner of DIYAuthor.com, addresses the future of the brand in light of Chris Well’s departure.
Chris Well, editor of DIYAuthor.com, announced on April 17 that he is taking a senior editor position at a national media company. As the owner of DIYAuthor.com, I’d like to address the future of the brand as Chris transitions into his new role.
First let me say that Chris has been a good friend of mine for many years and that will continue. We certainly do wish him well and I hope he will continue to be a regular voice in the work we do here at DIY Author. (We’re still talking about how to make that happen.) Fortunately for me, Chris and I live close and I’ll still get to see him for lunches we’re already planning. Thank you, Chris, for all you’ve done for the DIY Author brand and those who use it!
I want to affirm that we intend to continue the great work Chris has started. DIY Author has become a significant resource to “educate and empower writers with tools and resources to successfully develop, publish, and market their work with confidence.” That vision will continue to anchor the direction of this brand.
It remains to be seen exactly how we will sustain and grow the work Chris began. I’m considering a number of options and certainly welcome your comments and suggestions in the coming days.
I would especially like to know about you. What are your aspirations when it comes to writing and publishing? What kind of writing do you enjoy doing? Where in the writing/publishing/marketing process are you?
You can use our contact page or send me an email directly at Rick@RickEdwardsOnline.com and tell me about your writing and your ambitions. I’d love to hear your suggestions for the brand as well. I promise I’ll read every email.
Thank you for your loyalty to DIY Author. We hope you will continue to support the brand and be part of the DIY Author family!
