C.J. Darlington is a traditional author who went indie and launched her own publishing imprint. C.J. got her big break in publishing when her first novel, Thicker than Blood, won the Christian Writers Guild 2008 Operation First Novel contest. That led to a traditional book deal. Cut to 5 years later, and CJ went indie — launching a micropublisher, MountanView Books, with her sister and mom. The publisher is beginning to work with other authors.
In our conversation, C.J. shares:
- what led her to create her own publishing company
- the opportunities it creates for new authors
- and her advice for authors who want to create their own micropublisher.
